How will we carry our seeds into the future? Seed Carriers is a transdisciplinary project located at the intersection of art, society and science. The project presents the views of experienced practitioners and eminent experts, listens to soundscapes of flourishing diversity, visits impactful initiatives, develops tools to capture the multiplicity of voices in a multi-species chorus, speculates on the characteristics of future plant varieties, processes system failures, imagines new ways of feeding and tests innovative methods to initiate dialogue between stakeholders. In dissecting the prevailing vocabulary of crisis, Seed Carriers offers forms of experimentation and hope.
Seed Carriers ist ein zweiteiliges Projekt, bestehend aus einer Audio-Dokumentationsreihe und ihrer Aktivierung, einem Präsentationsformat, das eine globale Perspektive mit einem lokalen Publikum verbindet. Das Projekt reagiert auf den fehlenden öffentlichen Diskurs über den Umgang mit pflanzengenetischen Ressourcen in der Zivilgesellschaft und will einen künstlerischen Beitrag zum Dialog über Saatgut leisten. Das Ziel ist die Schaffung eines dynamischen Wissenspool, der die Bemühungen um den Schutz, die Bereitstellung und die Entwicklung von Saatgut und Pflanzenvielfalt in Europa widerspiegelt.
